How to measure and improve my (agile) culture
As we all know by now, agile culture and agile leadership are at the core of “being agile”. Add a bit of “doing agile” and actually being able to deliver value, and you are close to becoming an agile organisation …
The agile business consortium has defined agile culture many years ago, based on extensive research by the Agile Research Network and practical usage. We have developed a (free to use) tool that can help you assess the agile culture of your organisation, or a department. The tool has been used by over 1500 participants, has evaluated and improved and has now reached full maturity. In this workshop, you will be using the tool, be looking at the outputs and interpreting them, and we will take you on a journey exploring how awards winning organisations have been navigating agile culture.
After this workshop, you might want to learn more about how to use the tool, how to interpret the outcomes and run workshops with it. Most of all, learnings from other successful organisations will inspire you with new ideas how to navigate this seemingly difficult subject successfully. It is an afternoon session, you don’t have strategy for breakfast 😉
Key learnings:
The role and importance of agile culture in business agility
Knowing and Recognising the 7 areas of agile culture
How to use the toolkit element on culture, and how to interpret the tool’s outputs
What have other organisations done to improve agile culture

He is the owner and lead developer of the Framework for Business Agility and the process owner and lead reviewer for the agile business awards. Peter has been practising agility outside of IT and software for over 30 years. He is a strong believer in collaboration over competition and in sustainable developments over short term gain. Next to his work in business agility, he is Emeritus Facilitator in the IAF, he is senior judge in the international project management awards and a green project management ambassador. And he plays bass guitar (though not too well) in 3 bands. He talks regularly at conferences on business agility, leadership, strategy, culture, and change. And he collaborates with anyone that wants to advance (sustainable) business agility worldwide.
